Informed Choices

"Voting is a fundamental right of our democracy...Municipal government is involved in many aspects of our daily lives - from fixing roads, providing water and electricity, collecting garbage, caring for children and the elderly, running public transit, supporting the arts, and protecting our City's citizens." - Quoted from the official website for Toronto Elections and Registry Services.

On Monday November 13, 2006, the citizens of Toronto will be voting for the following offices:

* 1 Mayor
* 44 Councillors
* School Board Trustees for 4 Local School Boards

Remember, on Monday, November 13, 2006 – it's up to you!

FOOD ON OUR PLATES
Dinner was so basic you'd think it wouldn't be worth repeating, but, since it kicks take-out options butt, and sometimes we are all stuck for easy-peasy I shall share. I steamed 2 heads of organic broccoli and 1 block of organic tofu. When the broccoli reached its tenderness perfection and beautiful green brightness I threw it in a big bowl with the tofu, dished it out onto two plates and placed a couple dolops of organic store bought hummus ontop.

For tonight I'm thinkin' something a little more creative, coconut milk-ish...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Last night I wanted to watch Jamie Oliver do his thing, but wouldn't you know it, the show's highlights included him killing sheep and shooting wild boar. I'm not lying! Just before we switched the channel Jamie's on camera going on about how he doesn't think he can do it! Come on Jamie, you don't have to do anything you don't want to. I wish you had thought about your 2 beautiful daughters before you let your producers follow that killer-spree story line through.
