AN URBAN MAMA'S TAKE ON NURTURING HER FAMILY

MARVELLOUS LOCAL MONDAY

Today we couldn't meet up for our usual awesome Monday park day with Mama M and her duo because they were sick [get well quick!!]. We sulked a bit, then headed out to our closest local park. It was an absolutely picture perfect clear blue sky gorgeous morning. Perfect for spotting airplanes, helicopters and soaring seagulls. On the way home we collected the biggest and smallest leaves we could find, counted metal pins on the curb, and took a couple photos.

In this week's The Mirror (11/03/06) there's a good article by Lisa Day, about Ruth Shamai, the president of Ruth's Hemp Foods Inc. The three things I like about the article is that it praises hemp's nutritional value, that it's about a woman entrepreneur, and most importantly there's an excellent piece of nutrition wisdom in this quote:

"Shamai said she is always surprised when people question why they should eat hemp, but not why, for example, they should eat a doughnut, which has no nutritional value".

Anyone got a kick-butt chocolate hemp doughnut recipe?
