HUNGRY PLANET: WHAT THE WORLD EATS

Two of my many hobbies includes reading and being frugal. So you can imagine how grateful I am libraries *still* exist. Getting the automaton call telling me that 'one or more items' I've requested has arrived gives me butterflies. At yesterday's pick up I was delighted to see that one of the books waiting for me was HUNGRY PLANET: WHAT THE WORLD EATS by Peter Menzel and Faith D'Alusio.

I've only had a chance to glance at a couple family portraits - with two hyper monkeys dangling off my legs 24/7 it's difficult to absorb the massive effect of this beautiful looking book. I can not wait for 'alone' time to read, look at the detail in each photo and try out some real recipes!

Oh yes, love the libraries! It's amazing how much money I've saved just by checking books out instead of buying them. Plus it just feels good being in a library but not in school!

I love your 10 rules. This Hungry Planet book looks neat. I've been trying to check out some of those tasty vegan cookbooks that you've been baking out of, but they are always checked out or missing! I noticed in one of your recipes you were using banana and something else in place of the eggs? What do the cookbooks use instead?

I love seeing what you create with what you have and I love your cooking philosophy. I'm trying to feed my family better. And I want them to be more willing to try new things. You have inspired me to be more creative.

I have been enjoying your posts food and non-food alike. Great stuff.
