AN URBAN MAMA'S TAKE ON NURTURING HER FAMILY

4 Banana Banana Bread Poem

were you gals winkin' at mama
flirting
or peeking/hoping I'd just leave the kitchen,
for once

you 4 were letting off that
mushy-banana-zing-song
that signals 'bake with us or else'

so I mashed you 4
already so ripe
overnight you slept with a generous splash of organic vanilla
next afternoon I added:
2 C spelt flour + 1/2 C vanilla soy milk + drizzle macadamia oil + 1 TBLSP hemp pro + 1 TBLSP hemp seeds + 1 fork full of wildflower honey + 1/2 C sugar + GENEROUS MAMA HANDFUL butterscotch chips/ greased the pan with olive oil + 1 less ripe banana brother for decor

then you baked at 350 for 45, but your new bread head top was still a little under baked

next time will bake a tiny bit higher and 5 minutes longer.

The Homemade Food Revolution ends next Friday. From this post on, every time you leave a comment I will add your name to the draw, twice, heck three more times in addition to all those other times you've already gotten points for. Huge, grateful thank you to all who've participated, and to those who've lurked (come out and introduce yourselves!). I really appreciate all the comments, encouragement, support, and fun this project has been with you.

Have a fantastic weekend!

So, it's a poetry slam, huh? Here is my offer:

For organic sake, why call it bread?
With all that goodness, call it cake
instead.
Bananas, vanilla and stuff that's sweet.
It's more than bread, it's Mama's treat.
