letter to my coffee addiction

Hey you second & third cups of coffee I sometimes have in the afternoon,

I esteem you, greatly, but, I have to say (in a loud in-control-of-my-anger voice): you're one sneaky *^%$%$ addiction! There you are all donned up as this beautiful organic, fair trade - oh so righteous delight. Well, you are first thing in the morning...but if I dare to sip beyond, to cup 2 and 3 you leave me with the jitters, literally. I don't need you to help me with the jitters thank you very much. I'm already going on year three of parental sleep deprivation that helps with that area in my life.

For almost a week now I've been arm wrestling with the afternoon slump, and I've won all but one round. The disgusting thing I have to confess is that I lost it to a cold cup of coffee, the coffee that had been sitting in the pot since the morning. In fact, 90% of the time, make that 99% of the time, it's that cold coffee I slurp up like a thirsty dragon while I skim blogs.

No more I tell ya! It's o-v-e-r! O-V-E-R! Just one delicious, hot cup in the morning and adios!

OK, fine, I have to admit, I'm writing from a powerful and mighty place in my will power , but I didn't do it alone. It's Numi's Simply Mint that I have to thank.

Now scram you evil afternoon temptation!

I'm off to put the kettle on.

See you in the AM.

Great the way you say it with such firm conviction! The tea, I could break an afternoon coffee break with that. I haven't tried Numi's but I do like a nice mint tea from time to time.

That Numi Tea is amazing! I have the Temple of Heaven Gunpowder Green Tea that I am almost out of right now. Thanks for the visual on the box! :)

I enjoyed your Coffee letter! :)

Have a great day!
